Why I Founded This

Years ago now Jeanne and I had dinner with other alumni of campus network chapters and were approached to found the “Greater Boston Pipeline.” There were months where it was only the two of us. There were times when our focus was on networking, field trips, or fireside chats. Having been here from the beginning, and having been able to pass off the reigns to a core team that’s stronger than ever is a dream come true.

While I’m no longer the lead facilitator, I’m still a core team member working whenever possible to continue the growth we’ve seen in the last year. Founding something like this means it’s a piece of you, and no matter how far away or how much time passes you’re always invested in its success.

Don’t take my word alone.

It’s hard to ask your friends to invest in something you’ve created, and I promise we won’t do it often. Our organization is at a major turning point. And just as Jeanne and I once took a leap together, we’re now asking you to take this next leap with us.

Please consider a contribution of any size in the last days of our campaign.

I’m forever grateful for what we’ve accomplished together.

An Unbelievable Month

Last week, fellow core team member Eric Chast sent you an email asking you to help us continue building our capacity with your donations. Because of you, we raised $300 in the first week, and I can never thank you enough for your support.

But we still have a long way to go in the remaining 10 days to hit our goal. Will you join us in doubling your impact while we’re still receiving matching funds?

As our list of partner organizations continues to grow, so has our capacity to influence the people on-the-ground who are making real policy decisions. Collaborating with groups like City Awake – accelerating and celebrating the work of the social impact community in Greater Boston – and GBPI – seeking to increase public participation of the millennial generation in Greater Boston – has put us on new footing as an organization. We’re no longer spending resources looking for projects; we’re deciding which projects we can afford.

With your help, we can continue to stand with our partners and make positive change for our community.

Thanks again to all those that have been able to chip-in. We’re truly lucky to count you among our friends and supporters.

The Next 15 Days are Critical

Thanks to you, we shared in a lot of successes in 2014. We’ve grown our ranks, held successful policy series on housing and police militarization, and participated in a City Awake program that brought almost 100 progressive young professional organizations together to celebrate our collective work.

Our membership and our programs continue to grow. In 2015 we’ve held events around civics education with our friends at Generation Citizen, and net neutrality with Professor Lyons of Boston College. Now, with a new Mayor and a new Governor, the USOC pinning its US Olympic bid on Boston, and the continued fight to retain the young talent who flock to greater Boston, it’s as important as ever to bring together the voices of our generation to discuss the solutions to our region’s problems.

That is why the next 15 days are so important. To help us continue to grow, Roosevelt Institute’s national arm is offering matching funds to all donations we collect through our fundraising page.

Can you support us today and become a member with a donation of $25?

We’re where we are because of your work and your time. Thank you. We look forward to taking the next steps together to make Boston a better place for our generation.

Best,
Eric Chast
