Gearing Up for Our Next Policy Series – Justice and Law Enforcement

Thanks to those who voted to determine the subject of our fall policy series! Starting in October, over the course of 3 workshops, we’ll be examining our problem statement:

In light of the recent, tragic events in Ferguson, Missouri and coverage of issues related to militarization of domestic law enforcement around the country, we believe police forces should be more accountable and connected to the people they serve.

The first event will be held on Tuesday evening, October 14th, where an expert speaker will kick off our discussion of police militarization. Save the date and stay tuned for details! Email us with questions, program ideas or speaker recommendations.

Our Housing Committee is Rockin’ and Rollin’

Have you read or heard about a housing development happening in your neighborhood? For example, there is a proposal in the works for a 48-unit development on McGrath Highway in Somerville.

Reply to this message with any rumors, gossip, ads, articles, or other hearsay regarding project proposals. As decided in our last policy meeting, Housing Committee Directors (Eric, Alex, and Gavin) are now compiling projects in the Boston area; they will pick one project that our network can and should support.

As always, email us with any questions, comments or ideas. See you soon around the neighborhood!

Fondly, your Roosevelt Boston Core Team:
Erik, Jeanne, Gavin, Eric and Alex
