Thanks again to those who joined us last month at our kickoff event for our housing policy series! We are excited to continue our discussions this month.
Save the Date: March 19! Details TBC soon.
Many thanks to Tim Reardon from the Metropolitan Area Planning Council for leading our initial discussion around the demographic trends shaping the housing needs in Greater Boston. His data-rich and comprehensive presentation is available for your wonkish pleasure here.
As our series continues we will be hearing from folks with different perspectives on our core position: Housing in Greater Boston is too expensive. In the next three events we will be hearing from 3 perspectives: for-profit developers, non-profit developers (e.g. Community Development Corporations), and government (regulatory) organizations. After that, we’ll be gathering everything we’ve learned to develop a policy that addresses our core position. If you have ideas for experts we should invite into the conversation, please email us (and much, much appreciation for those of you who have already done this!).
If you haven’t had a chance to do so, please read “Finding Affordable Housing Solutions in Boston” by our very own Gavin O’Brien for an excellent introduction into why we are taking on this issue.
Can’t wait to see you next!
Fondly, your Greater Boston City Network’s Core Team: Alex, Jeanne, Gavin, Erik, Jarred and Eric
