Networking and civics education policy on March 26th

Education was the most popular topic at our recent open house event, so we’ve looked for organizations to partner with on taking action. Join Roosevelt | Boston on March 26th to find out about Generation Citizen’s “Revive Civics, Reclaim Democracy” campaign. We’ll start the event with networking over drinks, then Leila Quinn will provide an overview of the campaign and we will all discuss how Roosevelt | Boston members can get involved. RSVP today!

When: Thursday, March 26th from 6:30-8 PM
Where: WeWork, 7th Floor, 745 Atlantic Avenue Boston, MA 02111
Note: Please bring a photo ID.
RSVP here!

From Leila:
Generation Citizen directly engages schools in action civics while simultaneously building the demand for the concept across the country. GC’s Revive Civics, Reclaim Democracy campaign works to bring action civics education to every student in Massachusetts. Our priority is to institutionalize state support of action civics through funding, curriculum creation, and implementation.

Come out and decide how Roosevelt Institute | Boston could work with the campaign to help drive state funding to civics teachers or help design civics curriculum. Help may include policy advising, letters of support, research, planning assistance, or some other activities — you need to be in the room on March 26th to strategize (and drink, and meet other interesting people). Even if you’re not interested in participating in this cause, the event will be an opportunity to discuss other policy topics that we might focus on in the coming year.

Email us if you have questions about this event or want to get involved today. And don’t forget to RSVP.
