News and Event Updates from Roosevelt Institute @ Boston

Here’s a blast of summer cheer from us straight to your inboxes! We have a few exciting things to report:

Next Policy Series: Vote Now!
At our July event, we narrowed down a long list of topics suggested by our network for our next policy series starting in September. We want to know which issue you think we should tackle! Click here to cast your vote for our next policy series topic.

Housing Policy Committee: Join Now!
As you know, the six-month housing policy series wrapped up in July. Our housing action begins now: the committee will be working 6-12 hours per week to support production of multifamily housing construction that is transit-oriented and reasonably priced. One tactic — which earned the vote of Roosevelt Members — is utilizing civic participation to have a direct impact on planning board and zoning meetings.

Chairpersons Eric Chast and Alex Lessin seek Members interested in applying ideas from our workshops — interested? Send an email simply stating “I want to get involved” to boston@rooseveltinstitute.org.

Awesome August Event: RSVP Now!
Join us on Sunday afternoon, August 24, for Reinventing Boston: A City Engineered, a tour presented by Boston By Foot. Through this 90 minute tour we will discover all the layers of Boston and the hows and whys of its changes. Following the tour, we’ll be discussing all we’ve learned, and whatever else may come to mind, over a friendly beer or two in downtown Boston.

Please RSVP now if you can join us so we can book the right tour. We hope to see you all there!

Email us with any questions, comments, and the best thing on your summer reading list. See you soon around the neighborhood!

– Fondly, your Roosevelt Boston Core Team:
Erik, Jeanne, Gavin, Eric, and Alex
