We’re excited to see you at our next event on Sept. 16th! Click here for details and to RSVP. We’ll recap the work we’ve done together this year, talk about what it means to be part of the national Roosevelt Institute community and take steps to drive forward progressive policies.
Support Civics Education
Can’t wait for Sept. 16th to take action? Here’s a crucial and easy one!
Certain members of the US House want to eliminate funding provisions for history, civics, geography and economics. As negotiations wrap up for reauthorization of the Elementary and Secondary Education Act, Congressman Ross of Florida (R) and Congressman Cicilline of Rhode Island (D) have written a letter to their colleagues urging them to adopt the social studies provisions in the Senate’s better bill.
Click here TODAY to send a message to your Representative, asking him or her to sign on to the letter in support of a meaningful democratic education for all students. Many thanks to the National Council for the Social Studies and Generation Citizen for bringing this important policy action to our attention!
– Fondly, your Roosevelt Boston core team: Erik, Gavin, Alex, Eric & Max
